Topics: Memoirs, Humor, Pets, Seniors

Ina Hillebrandt during 'You Are Who You Eat'
Coach Ina is a proven expert on these topics for corporate, cannibal and civilian audiences. On humor, she developed  Comic Release™ (see below) a program providing tools to help people lighten up in the toughest times, and improve their personal and professional lives. And of course she is happy to talk about The Revolutionary New Cannibal Diet. On memoir writing, she is known for helping people open up and write about their life stories, those who have never written before and those who have but may be new to the memoir genre. People who attend her one hour sessions, longer interactive seminars and ongoing workshops attest to her ability to help recall vividly "memories long forgotten," and to write them down in a compelling style. On pets, she wrote a bestseller, Pawprints, that became the inspiration for Pawprints Literacy Plus™, a program begun at The Jane Goodall Educators Workshops, and used around the US to help educators and childcare workers teach kids about the importance of kindness to animals, each other and planet. The stories pull kids in, and inspire, to write their own KidPrints. And on seniors, before becoming one, she always valued people with craggy faces. "Older people know so much, I always learn from them." This attitude informed her development of workshops aimed at dealing with loss, using writing as a tool for healing. And to an intergenerational program for UCLA.

Ina, You have a gift...As a writing coach and a patient teacher and guide, you  managed to give each of us assurance and understanding related to our own personal writing projects. You also gave us a number of approaches and processes that will help guide is forward...Writing is the essence of life for me and listening to you and gleaning insight on memoir is so useful.
Warm wishes,

Dear Ina, I just wanted to say again how much I've enjoyed working with you. Pawprints is such a great book  -- both a wonderful read and an effective teaching tool. When the stories were read aloud, I felt a warming in the room. The participants seem to really have made  the connection. Thanks so much for all you do.

This class has been a kick in the butt to my writing. Tremendous! It's so motivating because of the process we do here. I can just be freed up to let the words flow. My critic is gone. He's somewhere in the Bahamas. I realize OMG, I've got so many stories to write, and it's not traumatic, the way it used to be. And listening to others telling stories, reminds me of others of my own.

Excellent seminar. I especially liked your warm and competent manner; your experience-based knowledge of the topic; giving time for individual intros and targeted feedback; and always staying on topic. We came away motivated.

Thank you, Ina for helping our dad get through the pain of losing our mom, and for bringing us closer. We've been anxious to read the stories he wrote about the family and surprised to read about the (fictional) family of Mo the cat. We're glad they're making people laugh.

I would highly recommend Ina’s seminar wherever people need tips on how to mix a light-hearted approach with more serious management styles. Her program truly brings about positive results in increased productivity, motivating people during hard times, and building rapport and trust among staff. Even though Ina’s humorous pearls of wisdom were intended for use in our professional lives, participants expressed the benefits of applying them to their personal lives as well.

I would recommend Comic Release because
humor is important and a lot of people forget
and don’t use it. It’s a great way to get rid of frustration.
