About Uncle Dan

Uncle Dan, Author, Social Satirist, RaconteurIna’s Uncle Dan was a wonderful man who contributed to the social satire and cannibal lore of this book. Born in Bryn Mawr, he became Philadelphia's top furniture refinisher. He also was known and much admired for his lifelong support of humanitarian causes. Both Uncle Dan and Abe were born storytellers. The genesis of this book we owe to Ina’s dad. From the dedication: “He started the tradition of cannibal jokes many years ago. We always knew one was coming when, as he was driving, he would stop, often mid-sentence, suddenly silent. After a minute or two, out would come a new cannibal joke, just as we knew it would."
